Bruce Kalin, PA-C Memorial Scholarship 

Sponsored by the American College of Clinicians

Bruce Kalin, PA-C was a groundbreaking leader who had much to do with the advancement of the PA profession. Bruce practiced in dermatology and was one of the specialty's leading clinical experts as well as a leader on the national, state and local level. At the time Bruce passed away, he was just beginning to work towards the advancement of both nurse practitioners and physician assistants in dermatology as he had just assumed a position as a member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Clinicians. Bruce was a passionate clinician.

The American College of Clinicians has decided to honor Bruce's memory by sponsoring a student scholarship for both a PA and an NP student each year. This scholarship will start at $200.00 for each student and will be given to the students, who in the Board's opinion, have gone out of their way to move their professions forward politically or socially. The scholarship will require that the student have a vision and have worked toward the betterment of the PA and NP professions.

The ACC is pleased to grant this scholarship in Bruce's memory and feel that he would be very pleased to know his name will be linked with new PAs and NPs who care as much about the future of their professions as he always did.

The deadline for the 2009 Scholarship is June 20, 2009 and we ask that The attached application should be sent in along with a letter from the student or nominator describing what they have accomplished and its significance, as well as a letter from their program attesting to the fact that the student is in good standing and that the program also agrees that the student is deserving of this award and distinction.
